Around 7pm on Christmas Eve it started snowing, a few flakes at first, I didn't think much of it, but then it kept coming and coming. We finally left my friends back country house just before 8pm and the roads were already covered in at least 2-3 inches of snow. (FYI - driving back to your parents house in a rear wheel convertible mustang in the snow is really difficult).
As soon as we got back to my parents house we grabbed some old winter clothes and headed out to play in the snow like a couple of kids. I miss snow so much, one of the downfalls to living in Texas.
We made snow angels...
And then a giant snowman...
Which had some structural integrity issues so it didn't last through the night...
Have you ever notice that you don't notice the cold when you are out playing in the snow until the snow melts and then its just freezing cold and you're standing outside saying "i'm ready for warm again"?!?! That's about how we felt on Christmas afternoon when the sun had taken away our precious snow angels and the ground cover, leaving only the defunct snowman laying on the ground just waiting to be peed on by the dog (yes, he did it more than once).
Fortunately, or unfortunately depending how you look at it, we got snow a second time while we were home and the ground was covered in a wonderful white glistening sheen for a few more hours. We even got to stay home an extra day because of the weather which meant I got to spend more time with the wonderful friends who I only see every few years and my parents who I only get to see a few times a year.
